Team Vrijwilligerswerk cooperated with Omroep Leeuwarden for this initiative. We gave the volunteer a certificate, VVV voucher and the opportunity to be photographed and interviewed by a reporter from Omroep Leeuwarden. We shared the story and photo (in agreement with the volunteer) on this website and social media. Below you can see (some) of the volunteers who were put in the limelight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, a new project has been launched, namely \u201dVolunteer WORK\u201d in the spotlight. Namely Chantal. All the volunteers you see below were highlighted together with her and Chantal took care of the interviews. My aim was to put the spotlight on the person behind the volunteer. What motivates someone to dedicate themselves selflessly to others, to the neighbourhood, to an association and so on? The hardest part of the interviews was getting people to tell something about themselves rather than volunteering.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Unfortunately, due to private reasons, I have had to end my work for Omroep Leeuwarden, which also means that I will no longer do interviews for the Sun.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I have met wonderful people over the past year thanks to the Sunlight. I feel truly honoured that these people felt so comfortable with me during the interview that they showed a sometimes very vulnerable or intimate side of themselves, things that touched me deeply and that I still think back on often.<br>Especially since our arrival was really a total surprise that also made some of you very emotional. Thank you all for trusting me during our interviews, for your stories and for your openness. You are all toppers, every single one of you!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I have learned that volunteers are much more important to our society than we often realise or think. We are now 26 years on, Peter is 43 years old and has been shouting for 5 years that he is going to quit as a board member at Youth Land. He too understands that no one believes him. She is 42 years old and mother of four children, the oldest of whom is 27 and the youngest 6. Bianca has been through a lot in her life. Unfortunately, she did not have the right papers for it. She worked for years as a care assistant, but that offered few career opportunities. Fortunately, she later took a course and obtained her diploma as an elderly care assistant. Unfortunately, that work has since become too physically demanding due to her osteoarthritis. Now she can put her caring heart into volunteering.&nbsp;<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/omroepleeuwarden.nl\/in-het-zonnetje-steffen\/\"><strong>Le<\/strong><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/omroepleeuwarden.nl\/in-het-zonnetje-froukje\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">es the interview here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns ruimte-kolommen-vrijwilligerswerk\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lia in the spotlight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lia turns 70 this year, but she is by no means sitting still. More than three years ago, she started at MFC Het Moza\u00efek, where she arrived via Tessa - whom she knows from the residents' committee. Since then, she has become an indispensable force, including as treasurer. She is proud of that, and rightly so: thanks to her efforts, the finances are completely back in order. Lia is known as a strict but fair treasurer. Saying \"no\" to a request? Yvonne and Annie know each other from the Kwadrant Group, where Annie worked there as a domestic worker. Dick has been volunteering for over 20 years. He has a visual impairment, with one eye he sees nothing and the other eye he has 5% vision, which used to be a bit better. Because of this impairment, he could never really get started in ordinary work while he likes to be busy. For example, the elderly of the district have been to the tour by buses for a bargain.
