Requesting Food Package

In the Netherlands, more than a million people live below the poverty line. Food banks help the poorest by temporarily providing them with food parcels. To provide our clients with sufficient food, we work together with companies, institutions, governments and individuals. Together, we ensure that poverty is combated, food surpluses disappear and the environment is less burdened.

If you live in the Municipality of Leeuwarden and would like to apply for food assistance from the Food Bank Leeuwarden, you can do so by completing the "Application for food package" form. You will then receive an invitation for an intake interview. These interviews take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 and 12:00.

In principle, if your application is approved, you can collect a food parcel once every fortnight for six months from the Food Bank at Tylkedam 51 in Leeuwarden.

After those six months elapse, a re-intake will take place during which your financial position will be reassessed. In principle, obtaining a food package is for a maximum of three years.
