Democracy under pressure

Major media groups and social media empires exert – often unseen – an enormous influence on what we see, hear and ultimately believe. Their interests are rarely neutral: economic incentives, political preferences and the battle for attention shape the news, with consequences for democracy. We are investigating these dynamics and new, independent forms of journalism.
