The fruit picking garden is healthy, social and educational. Healthy, because of the free unsprayed fruit (and flowers) for the neighbourhood, as a quiet place in a busy world, and the biodiversity of blossoms and pollinators in the neighbourhood. Social, because it is for the neighbourhood, by the neighbourhood (volunteers), gardening together, making things together, an opportunity for integration of newcomers, mienskip therefore. And Educational, for actively educating visitors about what is growing and flowering, when it is ripe, what it is healthy for, so that people come to taste and pick at the right time; and for exchanging reading books through the mini library.
