The Straatboer Foundation

Front gardens consisting solely of sand or that are completely paved with tiles are literally being dug up. Through the Straatboer Foundation, sand and stone are making way for flowers and shrubs. Straatboer works in partnership with, amongst others, housing associations, tenants and local authorities.

The plants are mostly second-hand: they are cuttings from other tenants’ gardens. In various towns, Straatboer has established links with local street gardeners and volunteers. The green front gardens not only bring more life to your front garden, but also bring tenants into contact with nature and with one another.
