Where are we based? Stichting Theater De Bres is a studio/pocket theatre in Leeuwarden city centre. The theatre is housed in a historic building on Schoolstraat, behind the Harmonie theatre.

What we do: Theater De Bres is an independent venue for debate and a stage for cabaret, poetry, music, dance and small-scale theatre performances (up to 100 audience members).

Who we are: A group of enthusiastic volunteers, comprising 15 people for catering and 2 people for technical and administrative support. A dedicated board of 5 members.

Who are we looking for: An enthusiastic volunteer who, together with two other volunteers, would like to take on the role of caretaker.

• contact with the volunteers and the board
• point of contact for venue hirers and performers
• co-ordinating stock and procurement
• setting up the rooms
• is a practical person who likes to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in,
• reliable, independent and with an eye for detail,
• affinity with engineering, building management (cleaning and minor maintenance),
• flexible availability (8 to 16 hours per week).
• opening and closing the theatre (can be done remotely)

• remuneration in the form of a volunteer allowance of €180 per month, based on 16 hours per week.

That you have the enthusiasm and time to fulfil this role. There are also a number of other important points:

• Knowledge and understanding of administrative processes,
• Some affinity with theatre and volunteering,
• mbo/hbo working and thinking level,
•  hold an SVH (Social Hygiene) certificate or be willing to obtain this qualification (one-day course).
