Emergency Shelter & Support Worker

Emergency Shelter & Support Worker

Are you there to help those in need during emergencies?

Would you like to do voluntary work that really makes a difference when it really matters? Are you a go-getter who is ready to help immediately if a crisis situation arises? And would you like to do meaningful and responsible voluntary work? Then sign up as an Emergency Shelter & Support Worker!

As an Emergency Shelter & Support Worker, you spring into action when an emergency arises and you are called upon. Together with your teammates, you assist the local authority in carrying out its duties. You will help with the reception and support of residents who have had to leave their homes in a hurry. However, you may also be called upon to help set up reception centres, lend a listening ear and provide basic psychosocial support.

The Red Cross
Helping people in need. That is what the Red Cross stands for. Far away, when people are forced to flee violence, or when their homes have been swept away by a mudslide. And close to home, when people lack basic necessities. We are always ready to help, whether it’s in the event of a disaster, providing shelter for refugees, offering food aid, education or first aid at events. With the world’s largest network of volunteers, we are always nearby to help.
