Experience volunteers wanted

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help run the drop-in centre at the Praktijkhuis in Leeuwarden.

As a drop-in volunteer, you use your personal experience to support visitors with mental health issues who come to Het Praktijkhuis. Visitors may need a listening ear, a chat or simply a safe space where they can just be themselves for a while. You may also have one-to-one conversations, but more often than not, conversations simply take place around the table. You’ll support visitors in taking steps forward using an Ixta plan, helping them gain greater insight into themselves. Naturally, you’ll receive guidance from Ixta Noa in this process. After all, working at Ixta Noa is, above all, about working on yourself! In addition, you’ll always be supporting the drop-in centre alongside another volunteer. As a drop-in volunteer, you’ll also have administrative and domestic duties. You’ll also have the opportunity to help organise, for example, creative afternoons, themed meetings or other activities.

It is important that you are an expert by experience in the field of mental vulnerability and that you are not much hindered by it now. After all, you are going to guide others from your experience and then insight and being able to set a good example is very important.

Together, we’ll ensure you have a good induction period. You’ll start by spending 10 half-days at the Praktijkhuis. You’ll take part in a basic training course run by Ixta Noa to learn more about how to apply your lived experience. After that, you’ll take part in the walk-in training.

If this vacancy appeals to you then you can apply to become a volunteer via the registration form. If you would like more information about the vacancy or about Ixta Noa, please email: leeuwarden@ixtanoa.nl or get in touch by phone on: 06-27382650 / Or send your question via a WhatsApp message!
