Hiking companion

For Meckama State, we are looking for a volunteer who wants to walk with residents. You will do this in groups together with a staff member. You are still fit enough to push a wheelchair while keeping an eye on safety. For safely pushing a wheelchair, you will receive constructions beforehand. We walk weekly on a fixed day, Tuesday or Wednesday by mutual agreement.

A wonderful opportunity and place to gain experience in elderly care. On-the-job supervision and attention in a good working atmosphere. You will gain new contacts with residents, family, volunteers and staff and contribute to a valuable day of our residents.

You are motivated and enjoy making your fellow man comfortable. You enjoy having a chat and can also listen. Affinity with the target group is an advantage. You do not have any physical complaints that hinder walking.
