Installer of energy-saving products (draught excluders/radiator foil)

We are looking for a new volunteer for the Oud Oost workshop who is keen to help make the world a cleaner place.

We have been commissioned by Leeuwarden City Council to install energy-saving measures in the homes of residents of Leeuwarden on behalf of the Energy Coaches. These include, for example, draught excluders and radiator foil. This is not only good for the environment, but also helps to reduce energy bills. 

What’s your day like?

You arrive at the workshop at 9.00 am. After a cup of coffee and a good bit of a chat, you’re given a list of addresses for today’s jobs. Armed with a workshop van, the materials and plenty of enthusiasm, you set off.

We’ll give you clear instructions on what you need to do. This often involves fitting draught strips and/or radiator foil. At 12:00, you’ll return for a hot or cold lunch provided by us. At 1.00 pm, you’ll head out again for your afternoon job. Sometimes you’ll have a colleague with you, but usually you’ll be on your own. At 3.00 pm, your day is over and you can enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

What do we offer?

A lovely, meaningful way to spend your day, with a friendly social circle and a fully catered lunch every day. We also regularly organise drinks or barbecues. Furthermore, provided you are receiving social assistance benefits, you are eligible for the participation allowance of 250 euros per year from the municipality of Leeuwarden.

What do we ask?

Experience in fitting radiator foil and draught strips is an advantage but can also be learnt on the job. You must hold a driving licence, as you’ll be travelling by bus. This means you won’t need a driver, giving you greater freedom. Initially, the role is for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the possibility of extending the hours.
