Community mediator
Amaryllis Neighbourhood Mediation is for residents of the municipality of Leeuwarden who are having problems or disputes with their neighbours or with someone in the neighbourhood.
As a neighbourhood mediator, you help residents to discuss conflicts and irritations with one another. You support neighbours in finding a solution that both parties can agree on, so that the quality of life and community relations in the neighbourhood improve.
Your duties will include:
- Conducting discussions with residents who are experiencing a conflict or disagreement.
- Preparing and facilitating mediation meetings between neighbours.
- Encouraging residents to come up with their own agreements and solutions.
- Working with other neighbourhood mediators and the neighbourhood mediation coordinator.
- Taking part in peer review, training and follow-up meetings.

- Be prepared to attend the basic training and meetings.
- Being able to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Be available for meetings, mediation sessions and consultations for a few hours a month on average.
