Do you want to get involved in making Leeuwarden accessible to people with disabilities. We are looking for a Chairman & Secretary

WTgL is an independent working group. We stand up for the interests of people with disabilities. This concerns physical, social and digital accessibility. We consist of a group of people with experience. People without disabilities who feel involved in this subject can also join. 
The WTgL works, among other things, from the Local Inclusion Agenda (LIA) of the municipality of Leeuwarden. The LIA sets out how the municipality works on accessibility and inclusion. The LIA is about all life domains. The WTgL works together with the municipality and with many social organisations, interest groups, entrepreneurs to raise awareness, maintain contacts, give solicited and unsolicited advice. Furthermore, we think along about policy and its implementation. We give presentations and workshops on accessibility. We also inspect locations for accessibility (e.g. public buildings, catering establishments, schools, public spaces).

It is meaningful volunteering with social impact.  
There is plenty of room for input of vision and ideas, in which you provide direction, inspire and have a connecting role.  
You influence municipal policy and its implementation. 
You have many different social contacts.  
There are training opportunities and a volunteer allowance.

you/they draft the agenda, chair the meeting, and take minutes.  
you/you maintain good relations between WTgL and other organisations.
you/you are the 1st point of contact for the municipality through the (coordinating) official or officials of various policy areas. Both at policy and implementation level.
