Male or female accordionist
The Leeuwarden Shanty Choir is looking for an accordionist (male or female) to accompany the choir. We rehearse every Thursday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm and perform regularly in and around Leeuwarden.
Rehearsals take place on Van Loonstraat in Leeuwarden, in the Opus building. Please get in touch with our chairperson or pop in to get a feel for the atmosphere at one of our friendly rehearsal evenings.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
On Thursday evenings, the choir rehearses in earnest, singing in three-part harmony. The musicians then practise the intros and accompaniment separately. We offer a small music allowance and a travel allowance if you live outside Leeuwarden.
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
Be somewhat familiar with the genre of shanties and sea shanties. Be able to play together with two guitarists and an accordionist.
