Board members requested for Neighbourhood Association/Suburb Bilgaard
Description
We are looking for board members for the District Association/Wijkbedrijf Bilgaard. Bilgaard is one of the largest neighbourhoods in Leeuwarden. Its population is 6300 and the neighbourhood is home to 106 different nationalities. We are a very enterprising and active neighbourhood association. We offer 39 regular activities such as course ball or chess, 13 service projects such as the Day Walk-in and 15 projects such as the MAX-mobile. The number of visitors per week? As many as 1,000 people. We have 650 members. We organise all this with about 140 volunteers and a coordinator/business leader. We also have about 18 children working with us at the Pocket Money Project and we work with community service workers and people from participation. We also offer internships to MBO, HBO and university students and have a Neighbourhood Work Apprenticeship. The neighbourhood association is a place where all these people can develop. Participating, cooperating, making progress, that's what it's all about. Moreover, this is how residents come into contact with each other. We also initiate and support neighbourhood-oriented initiatives. We make sure the community centre is the central place for residents and organisations. We are partners in LAB Noord. In it, we cooperate with service partners for a strong comprehensible basis with regard to welfare and care in the neighbourhood. We also work very closely with the Friends of Bilgaard Foundation and with other organisations in the neighbourhood. The district service point is the central counter for all these organisations. It is located in the community centre. The board consists of six members. We meet once a month and organise a big activity 4 or 5 times a year, to which everyone also contributes. We are looking for someone who fits our team and whom we can rely on. For more information, please contact Jos van Dongen, chairman of the board, email bestuur@bilgaardnet.nl. Or walk in to coordinator/business leader Dick Bootsma for information.
