Duo cycling is only possible as a duo...will you cycle with me?

Description

A 44-year-old woman with Down syndrome is looking for a volunteer who would like to do something fun with her once in a while, such as walking in the wheelchair or cycling on the duo-bike. With support, of course.
Ms does not speak or understand spoken language, but as soon as she knows and trusts someone, she visibly shows it.

Preferred evenings and weekends. During the day, Ms is off to day care. But I am sure we can make good arrangements in consultation.

What does the organisation offer the volunteer?

Of course, you will first get to know each other and drop by for a cup of coffee so you can get to know each other a little. In addition, you will receive the necessary guidance from the staff at the location and you will also be trained. If there is a good click from both sides, a VOG will be applied for and a volunteer agreement will be drawn up. You are then insured during your volunteer work and will receive a Christmas package from the organisation in December and a small gift around volunteer day. You will also receive the volunteer newsletter. You are entitled to a travel allowance, if applicable.

What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?

Most important is the click that must exist between the volunteer and the client. The voluntary work must add value on both sides. In doing so, you are reliable, patient, have good social skills and keep appointments.
