Would you like to come along as a holiday volunteer?

For many people with disabilities, going on holiday independently is not something they can take for granted. As a volunteer with Tendens (formerly TOF-vakanties), you’ll help make special holidays possible. You’ll offer support where needed and help create a friendly, safe and relaxed atmosphere.

You’ll be travelling alongside holidaymakers and other volunteers. Whether you’re joining us for a week or just a few days, your contribution makes a difference. At the same time, you’ll have a rewarding and enjoyable experience yourself.

The assistance consists of:

• Guiding and supporting holidaymakers during their journey
• Assistance with daily activities, such as eating, getting dressed or moving around (depending on care needs)
• Organising activities and outings together
• Contributing to a cosy, safe and relaxed holiday atmosphere
• To act as a point of contact and travel companion for holidaymakers
• Working with other volunteers and the tour leaders

Holidays from Friesland depart from Heerenveen and Drachten. There is a wide range of options: summer holidays, winter holidays, short breaks, longer holidays, and destinations both in the Netherlands and abroad. This means there is almost always a holiday to suit your interests and availability.

The summer holiday guide will be out soon! You’ll be able to sign up then.
