Hostesses/Gentlemen historical state

Description

As a host or hostess, you make sure the State is ready to receive guests. This includes ensuring that all curtains (inside) and shutters (outside) are open, the lights in the rooms are on and everything looks tidy. Guests can walk around independently or the hostess/host can arrange for a guided tour. If guests come with questions, the hostess/host are there to answer them.


What does the organisation offer the volunteer?

  • You will always work together with another experienced host or hostess. So you don't have to know everything right away! By walking along and taking in the information given, you learn the history of Dekema State as you go along.
  • We work with a schedule. You can specify your own availability. From April to October, we receive guests on weekends, from mid-June to mid-September 6 afternoons a week, and outside that we receive groups by appointment.
  • Volunteer pass: free entry together with a guest during opening hours
  • Newsletter 3 times a year
  • Once a year a volunteer outing ending with a barbecue (bbq with partners)
  • Year-end volunteer dinner
  • Birthday card and for ups and downs


What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?

  • You are hospitable!
  • You are interested in history and enjoy conveying this to guests.
  • You are meticulous and presentable.
  • If you are assigned and cannot come due to circumstances, please let us know in time so we can find other hosts or hostesses.
