Group chores supervisor

Stichting Present Leeuwarden brings (groups of) people who want to help into contact with people who need this help. When executing the request for help, these people/volunteers are guided. For this, we are looking for people who like to carry out this guidance. You can do the intake (project visit) of a request for help yourself. You get to know the person seeking help and his/her situation, as well as the care worker involved. You take stock of what needs to be done and make the necessary arrangements.

We would prefer the person carrying out the project visit to be the same person who, on the project day, supervises the group of volunteers as they carry out the project. That way, you’ll be a familiar face to the person requesting help and you’ll be familiar with the situation. This aspect is always decided in consultation with you, taking into account your availability and the time you have available.

On the project day itself, you will guide a group of volunteers through the process of starting and completing a project. You’ll be available on your mobile throughout the project day to answer any questions or deal with any emergencies, so you won’t need to be present for the entire duration of the project. You’ll help ensure that the project fosters a meaningful and respectful interaction and will facilitate the introductory session. You will also help to ensure that the arrangements prepared and communicated in advance during a project visit (intake) are clear to everyone. Sometimes you’ll ‘break the ice’ at the first meeting or help things get off to a good start. After the project has finished, you’ll conduct the evaluation with the volunteers and the person seeking help on site, and afterwards you’ll complete the administrative closure in our Presentsystem and send a thank-you email to the group.

We know where help is needed and ensure that everything is well organised and the voluntary effort, whether in someone's home or behind the scenes at the office, is meaningful and enjoyable.

Naturally, as a new group leader, you’ll receive training and support, and you’ll use standard documents to make the process easier. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated team of paid staff and volunteers.

• You have a good understanding of people and know how to combine this with a practical and flexible approach.
• You are able to prepare groups effectively for the projects they are going to carry out.
• You enjoy spending time with a wide variety of people.
• You are sociable, have good communication skills, are meticulous and flexible, and are good at empathising with others. 
• You are investing in raising awareness amongst groups about looking after one another.
• You’ll need to commit to Stichting Present for at least six months (up to four hours a month).
