Huizumerhof – Cooking Prince/Princess Wanted

Are you a real master chef and do you enjoy cooking for groups of people? 
Then this is bound to be right up your street. Lots of residents enjoy helping out with preparing meals. Or clearing up the washing-up after dinner, as that needs doing too.
They often simply enjoy the smells and the clatter in the kitchen, or like to be the guinea pig. 
After all, what could be better than the smell of home-cooked food? That’s right! Eating it!  
  
Does this sound like something you’d enjoy? If so, why not help come up with meal ideas, order groceries together, and cook or bake for and with clients?. 
After that, if you’d like, you’re welcome to join us for dinner and perhaps give a hand with the clearing up.  

Our location:

Huizumerhof 30 is a lovely, small-scale facility close to the centre of Leeuwarden. As well as an intellectual disability, most of the residents at this facility also have a form of autism. Here, they have their own flat and en-suite facilities, and there is also a communal support centre on site. Here, they can enjoy a cup of coffee, a meal or a game together. The eight residents are largely independent, but do need a little guidance and/or support from time to time. This includes tasks such as doing the laundry and the shopping. The atmosphere at this facility is homely, warm and friendly.

After an initial meeting at the venue, you will have a nice cup of coffee or tea. Does it feel right for both of you? Then we arrange the next steps together. We apply for a VOG and make a volunteer agreement so that everything is neat and clear. 
From then on, you are fully insured during your voluntary work. You will also receive a Christmas package, a nice gift on Care Day and you will be kept informed via our volunteer newsletter. If applicable, you will also receive a reimbursement of your travel expenses. 
In short: you mean something valuable to someone else, and we take good care of you! 

We’ll apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct and draw up a volunteering agreement, so that everything is properly organised and clear. From that point on, you’ll be fully insured whilst carrying out your voluntary work.
