Practical help in and around the home
Description
Would you like to get involved by rolling up your sleeves for vulnerable people in Leeuwarden? Think of offering practical help to people who have no friends, neighbours or family who can help and/or people who have no money to hire help themselves. You can be of enormous significance to them! Discover how nice and valuable it can be to do something for someone else.
Leeuwarden is home to people who need help on a regular basis. There are various (small) things you can do for these people. For instance, you can help them maintain a garden, put together a cupboard or install a tablet. In short; the requests for help we receive are extremely diverse.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
Do you want to experience how special it is to mean something to people who desperately need your help? Would you like to make a social impact together with other young people? We regularly organise cool activities for our regular volunteers!
Maybe after your one-off commitment, you have become so enthusiastic that you want to commit more often. You can! We regularly receive new requests from people in need of practical help. Or maybe having a buddy who visits you every week seems like a nice challenge, check out our buddy vacancy or send us a message!
In addition, with the Social Service Time (MDT Yourcube), we offer a more challenging route in which you can develop yourself and also get a certificate for your CV! Here, you will work an average of three hours a week for six months at a volunteer spot. This can be one fixed spot, a combination of several workplaces. It all depends on what excites you or what you want to develop. We like to think along with you, so you can discover your talents and let them flourish!
If you have more time and can commit regularly over 6 months, this cool track might be for you.
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
Volunteering is voluntary but not without obligation. We expect you to stick to the agreements and communicate if you cannot keep them.
