Wheelchair dancing, moving together to music

Description

A gentleman is looking for a buddy to accompany him during wheelchair dancing. Someone who wants to pick him up from home (a short walk), take him to the activity and then bring him home again. Of course, there might then be the possibility of having a cup of tea/coffee together.

Sir is wheelchair-dependent and has a wheelchair with support: a motor. The volunteer will steer this so she/he is moving with Mr. to music.

The activity takes place on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 7.45pm

The first time, accompaniment goes along to give instructions and speak on sir's behalf. The intention is for the volunteer to then participate in the activity alone with sir.

During wheelchair dancing, someone from 'Drempelloos dansen' is always present. In addition, guidance is available by phone.

Sir is looking for a buddy. Someone who is as enthusiastic as himself and perhaps also likes loud stimuli. Knowledge of epilepsy would be nice but is not a must; companionship is always available by phone in case of a seizure.
Sir cannot make himself understood with spoken language, but with his sounds he can communicate when he likes or dislikes something. His facial expressions also speak volumes here. He has epilepsy and a protocol for handling a seizure. He loves loud stimuli. Think of wind, rock music and being moved wildly, for instance.

What does the organisation offer the volunteer?

If there is a good click from both sides, a VOG is applied for and a volunteer agreement is drawn up. You are insured during your volunteer work and receive a Christmas package from the organisation in December and a small gift around volunteer day.
You will also receive the newsletter for volunteers.
You are entitled to a travel allowance, if applicable.

Of course, you will first get to know each other and drop by for a cup of coffee so you can get to know each other a little. In addition, you will receive the necessary guidance from the staff on site and you will also be inducted.

What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?

Most important is the click that must exist between the volunteer and the client. Volunteering must add value from both sides.
In addition, you are reliable and keep appointments.
