Volunteer at the Social Food Garden - enjoy working outdoors while doing something for someone else

Description

Do you enjoy being outdoors and would you like to do something for someone else? Then become a volunteer at the Social Food Gardens Leeuwarden!

We grow unsprayed vegetables for people on minimum income. In our gardens on Schieringerweg and Egelantiersstraat, guided by the gardener, we work with a group of enthusiastic volunteers for a healthy and social city.

As a volunteer, you will help with all kinds of work in the garden, such as sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting or watering. There are also practical jobs like making compost bins, repairs, and small construction or carpentry jobs. You work on a fixed day a week, but it's all flexible - join in at your pace and according to what you can do.

Guidance is available on set days and we provide coffee, tea and something tasty. You will also learn how to grow your own vegetables and take them home afterwards.
