Volunteer driver for the Bilgaard Neighbourhood Car Scheme
We are looking for drivers for the Bilgaard Transport Project. As a volunteer driver, you will drive a local resident from A to B in an Opel Agila with automatic transmission. This service is primarily aimed at people with limited mobility and older people who feel uneasy about going out on their own. This could include a shopping service or a trip to the library or MCL. The initiative for this project comes from the Bilgaard Neighbourhood Association and the Bilgaard Neighbourhood Panel. Volunteers are scheduled as part of a pool.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
- A friendly workplace with many fellow volunteers;
- Four weeks of summer holidays and two weeks of Christmas holidays;
- Throughout the year several fun activities for our volunteers;
- Opportunity to take courses that enhance your work
- A Christmas package in December.
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
- You are task- and people-oriented
- Aged 18 or over
- Hold a valid driving licence
- First aid certificate preferred, but not essential
In addition, there will be a demonstration on how to help people with mobility difficulties get in and out of the car. (You may bring a walking frame or folding wheelchair.)
