Volunteer Parent & Child Café - Centre East Leeuwarden

Do you want to offer children and parents a warm, cosy and safe place where they can meet? Then we are looking for you!

District team Centrum- Oost in Leeuwarden is looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the Parent & Child Café. The Parent & Child Café is an accessible meeting place for parents and children. Every fortnight we organise a pleasant afternoon where meeting, relaxation and attention are central.

Among other things, we organise:

• Craft activities
• Playing games together
• Creative and sports workshops
• Visit to the library
• Visit to the fire brigade
   

From welfare organisation Amaryllis, Liselotte, Della Bella and Inge are involved. In addition, two permanent volunteers are currently active. To further strengthen and expand the café, we are looking for additional support.

Depending on your interest and availability, you can:

During the meetings:

• Parents and children receive
• Devise and supervise activities
• Getting the room ready and tidy
• Ensuring a pleasant and safe atmosphere
   

In the development phase:

• Contributing ideas on programme design
• Help with planning
• Liaise with cooperation partners, such as schools and voluntary organisations
• Participating in expansion to Achter de Hoven

We are looking for volunteers who are available on Thursday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm at the odd weeks. We are looking for people who can work independently, are flexible and creative, and of course bring a healthy dose of enthusiasm and commitment. Affinity with children and/or parents is important, and it is nice if you enjoy working together and dare to take the initiative. Experience is not necessary; your commitment and enthusiasm are paramount!
