Become a weekend volunteer at Museum House Van Eysinga? We are looking for you!
Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten opens up exceptional historic houses to the public as museum houses. As a volunteer at Huis Van Eysinga, you play a key role in the visitor experience. Through your hospitality and dedication, you help make every visit worthwhile and memorable.
About Hendrick de Keyser Monuments
For over 100 years, Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten has been dedicated to the preservation of architecturally and historically significant buildings and their interiors. The organisation now manages more than 450 properties throughout the Netherlands, ranging from canal-side houses and farmhouses to country estates and villas.
These historic buildings are preserved by putting them to active use: as homes, workplaces, accommodation or museum houses. In this way, Dutch heritage remains accessible to a wide audience, both now and in the future.
What will you do?
As a volunteer, you will be part of a dedicated team that works together to ensure visitors receive a warm welcome. Your duties will include:
- Welcoming visitors and explaining the audio tours
- Provide a brief description of the house and its interior
- Answering questions and helping visitors find their way
- Monitoring the rooms
- Helping with opening and closing the house
- Identifying when something needs to be added or improved
- Serving coffee or tea
In addition, if you’d like, you can help bring the house to life, for example by taking part in a small activity such as explaining historical customs or baking a tasty biscuit. See also: Volunteers bring the Van Eysinga Museum House to life
