Understanding and managing personality disorders

In the online course 'Personality Disorders', you will learn more about the main theories on what constitutes a personality. Using the classification in the DSM-IV TR, you will learn to recognise the currently recognised personality disorders. Cluster A covers paranoid, schizoid and schizotypal personality disorders; Cluster B covers borderline, antisocial, histrionic and narcissistic personality disorders. In Cluster C, you will focus on avoidant, dependent and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders. 

What will you be able to do or know after the course?
- Knowledge of the main theories on what constitutes personality (Hippocrates’ theory of temperaments and the recent Big Five model).
- You have learnt about the most common psychiatric disorders.
- You will have a better understanding of how to deal with people who have (or are suspected of having) a personality disorder.
