For 'adolescent group' de Uitvliegers (part of KDC de Vlieger), which is accommodated at day care location Middelséhiem in Westeinde, we are looking for someone who would like to go for a walk on Fridays from 10 am to about 12 pm, together with the permanent employee(s). This concerns a group (2 to 4) of young people aged 13 to 18. By going out with the young people, you enlarge their environment and you can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings yourself in the meantime.

Do you want to offer children and parents a warm, cosy and safe place where they can meet? Then we are looking for you! District team Centrum- Oost in Leeuwarden is looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the Parent & Child Café. The Parent & Child Café is an accessible meeting place for parents and children. Every fortnight we organise a cosy afternoon where meeting, relaxation and attention are central. Among other things, we organise: Craft activities Playing games together Creative and sports workshops Visit to the library Visit to the fire brigade From welfare organisation Amaryllis, Liselotte, Della Bella and Inge are involved. In addition, two permanent volunteers are currently active. To further strengthen and expand the café, we are looking for additional support.

Volunteer Bevolkingszorg

As a volunteer Bevolkingszorg, you are called out when there is a disaster or crisis situation in your region. A fire, flood, power failure or an impactful event in the municipality. This might involve setting up a shelter, distributing basic necessities, offering a listening ear or monitoring requests for help. Do you already have a first aid diploma? Then you will attend three additional training courses (about 8 hours in total). You will get a good grounding in the structure of population care, learn to cooperate in crisis situations and practise conversation skills. Two of the three training courses are online and the last course is physically on location with an assessment. After completing the training courses, you may be called up. You can see how this works in the video below. If you are not available at that time, you can of course indicate that. Every year, there are three meetings in which you get together with the team to deepen knowledge, practice and share experiences. You will also take part in several exercises with other emergency services to strengthen cooperation.

Granny's Soup Volunteer

Granny's Soup Leeuwarden organises weekly activities to combat loneliness among the elderly. We organise Cooking Days, Soup at Home Days and several times a year we organise events in Leeuwarden. We are looking for young people/students who want to help us do this! Cooking days: Elderly people and volunteers get together to cut and chat. Often a game is played while the soup is cooking. The cooking day ends with a happy Granny's Soup meal, where the elderly and young people can enjoy their own cooking. The cooking days bring much conviviality from which the elderly derive great pleasure. In addition, they find the contact with young people valuable, fun and both the cooking days and the soups promote the health of the elderly. It gives them a sense of purpose and, above all, a lot of fun! The cooking days are organised in various community centres and day care centres. Soup-to-door days: Volunteers visit some elderly people's homes to pass a soup. The fresh soup is good for the health, but the most important thing for the elderly is the structural contact moment. The cosy chat is what the elderly enjoy most and is most valuable to them. In this, it is nice if the volunteer and the elderly stay in touch, and the same volunteers and elderly are linked structurally as much as possible. Of course, all activities happen under the guidance of the Granny Soup Board Leeuwarden. We always try to do this the best we can, to always make it something fun for both the elderly and yourself. You can help! Besides its own activities, Oma's Soep tries to inspire millions of Dutch people to give a parent a smile. Would you like to contribute too? Then sign up as a volunteer!
