In the good old days, supermarkets were small, cosy grocery stores where the cash register actually rang and groceries passed over the counter in paper cone bags. In the heart of Leeuwarden, such an authentic grocery shop still exists, housed in a seventeenth-century building. From Tuesday to Sunday, the Grutterswinkel comes back to life, with hostesses/gentlemen walking around to welcome the many visitors. Visitors can take a look inside the Grutterswinkel, buy products from the past and enjoy a piece of orange cake and/or real Fryske Dúmkes. For this museum with its busy coffee room, we are looking for hostesses and gentlemen for at least two half-days a month. The work includes catering and telling the story of Leeuwarden and the Grutterswinkel to our visitors. The visitors are mainly tourists. Everyone should be able to be themselves. That is what COC Friesland has been working for for decades. Whether it is about young people being educated at school, older people finding a safe meeting place or standing up for equal rights: together we build a mienskip in which LGBTQIA+ people can participate fully and visibly. That work requires not only passion and commitment, but also a solid financial basis. That is why we are looking for a General Board member with the funds portfolio: someone who will help find the resources with which the association can achieve its goals.What will you do?As Board member funds, you are the financial engine behind our projects and initiatives. You are involved in fundraising at, among others, the Oranjefonds, Blauwe Fonds, Bob Angelo Fonds and the Iepen Mienskipsfûns. You write and submit grant applications and ensure clear and careful justification. You work closely with the treasurer and the office manager to keep COC Friesland financially strong and future-proof. You think along with the board about the direction and development of the association. Who are we looking for? You feel connected to our mission and have a strong affinity with the LGBTQA+ community. You have fundraising experience or the drive to learn. You enjoy giving financial advice. You are conscientious and take transparency for granted. You are someone who gets energy from cooperation, but also takes initiative. Experience with project-based work is an advantage. As a Zonnebloem volunteer, together with over 33,000 other volunteers, you form the basis of our association. Together, you work towards one goal: giving people with a physical disability an unforgettable time. The Leeuwarden East division has 90 guests and 30 volunteers. The tasks include Together with the chairman, prepare the meetings and prepare/dispatch the agenda. Make a report of the meetings and send it. Monitoring action points. Handling mail (digitally). Arranging printing, placing advertisements and Zonnebloem articles. You ensure follow-up of working agreements and compliance with statutes, internal regulations and other agreements made within the association.

Become a volunteer and make someone happy by having a cup of coffee together or going for a walk. As a volunteer, you visit our guests, for example, or help organise activities. So there are various ways to dedicate yourself to the Zonnebloem. As a volunteer with the Zonnebloem, you can bring beautiful moments to people with a physical disability. There is always volunteer work that suits you. Everyone needs company. A nice chat or doing something fun together. But people with a physical disability may be alone more often than they would like. The volunteers of the Zonnebloem come by for a visit at home or take the participants out for a walk. Moments our participants can look forward to, and memories to cherish. Visiting at home Many people with physical disabilities knock on the Sunflower's door because they are looking for companionship. Would you like to get in touch with them and visit them regularly? Then apply to the Leeuwarden-Oost division. If possible, we will pair you with someone with the same hobbies and interests. Of course, it does not necessarily have to be just a home visit. Who knows, maybe you can go out together sometime. A drink on a terrace, a walk through the woods or go shopping together. Just the way 'your' Zonnebloem participant and you like it. Or help with group activities Besides home visits, local Zonnebloem units also organise all kinds of outings and excursions. For example, an afternoon to the theatre, a zoo, a museum or another place of interest. Pushing a wheelchair can be enough. But also pouring coffee and tea or helping organise the activity.

Buddy and support wanted to go swimming with you

Do you want to make sure someone can swim weekly? For a 68-year-old gentleman from Leeuwarden, we are looking for a volunteer to assist with swimming. The gentleman would like to swim weekly on Saturdays from 11:30 - 12:30 at Spelend Sporten in the Blue Wave. Unfortunately, this is not possible without the guidance of a volunteer. Unfortunately, the current volunteer can no longer support him due to health problems, so we are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who can ensure that his swimming outing can continue after the summer holidays! The gentleman has a mental and physical disability and goes to the pool by taxi. He needs support during the taxi ride and with small practical matters, such as light support when getting dressed after swimming. In addition, the sociability is also very nice, as the gentleman has a small social network. If weekly is not possible, even then something is always possible. Every time he can go swimming is a bonus.

Garden staff

Doarpstûn Snakkerbuorren is less than five minutes' cycling from the Vrijheids neighbourhood on the north side of Leeuwarden. The village garden grows organic vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit and there is a forest area. The garden is intended as a place of relaxation for young and old, with fun as a central theme. Fruits, vegetables and flowers are offered for sale throughout the year, the offer depends on the season. The foundation also organises cultural activities in the garden. We are looking for volunteers to help in the garden. Ideal for students and anyone who wants to gain knowledge about plants and sowing and harvesting. Back to nature. The garden has a relaxing atmosphere with valued colleagues. Work at your own pace or also with each other. It's all part of the picture. We are looking for garden workers who like to roll up their sleeves. Tasks may include hoeing, weeding, harvesting, pruning and helping where needed. Some 70 volunteers work in the garden and some sell our products in our shop. Proceeds from the garden are again used for garden maintenance to buy seeds and planting material. We have large grounds with several greenhouses and covered facilities for our tools and supplies. We also have a Talking House for consultation, meetings and for various activities. There is also a kitchen area and toilet facilities.
