If you come to play chess at senior chess club Philidor, you will immediately become part of the oldest chess club in the Netherlands. This club was founded in 1847. Chess lovers still meet here to play this beautiful mind game. In Wijkcentrum Bilgaard we play every Wednesday afternoon. For enthusiasts, we regularly organise 'simultaneous chess'. Simultaneous chess

In a chess simulation, one (usually strong) player plays against more than one player at a time. The boards are set up in a circle. The simultaneous player walks along the boards and makes a move at each board. The opponents get exactly as much thinking time per move as the simultaneous player needs to walk around the circle. When the simultaneous player arrives at a board, the opponent must make his move immediately, after which the simultaneous player makes a countermove and moves on to the next board.
