Collection contact

Description

The Wissel Animal Shelter Foundation takes in hundreds of animals in need every year. To provide the best care for these animals, a lot of money is needed. In recent years, we have noticed that the animals coming in more and more often need (urgent) medical care. That is why we are looking for people who, together with us, want to organise the collection in their own neighbourhood or village!

Besides the municipality of Leeuwarden, we are also looking for contacts in the municipalities of Waadhoeke and Harlingen. In this position, you will have a coordinating role and be the contact person for the collectors in your area. In 2025, our collection week is from 23 to 28 June.

What does the organisation offer the volunteer?

You will make a significant contribution in organising the collection week. All proceeds from the collection go to De Wissel in Leeuwarden and are used for food, housing, medicine, vet costs, etc.

What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?

That you want to be involved with the Wissel with enthusiasm and, in doing so, contribute to helping almost 1,000 animals every year.
The ideal contact person has a network in the neighbourhood who knows how to enthuse people to take up a collection for the Wissel. The contact person ensures that collectors are recruited, supported by the collection committee of course, and makes sure that the collectors receive all the materials they need (such as the collection box, ID, etc.).
