Animal shelter The Wissel, Foundation
Animal shelter the Wissel has existed since 1957. The Wissel's core task is the reception and rehoming of stray and abandoned animals. These are mainly dogs and cats, but rabbits and rodents are also regular visitors to the shelter. Around 800 cats and 200 dogs are taken in every year.
In addition to its shelter function, the Wissel also has a boarding department for cats.
Our mission
Animal shelter the Wissel ensures, with the deployment of resources and people, that distance and stray animals are cared for and rehomed. The Wissel occupies a central position as a knowledge and training centre for pet care.
We stand for good shelter and care for pets. For us, the animal is central. Being a good employer for professionals, trainees and volunteers is paramount.
The Wissel has five salaried staff supported by three substitute staff and some 125 volunteers.
No activities and services are available for this organisation.
