Homestay kittens animal shelter

Homestay kittens animal shelter

Description

Every year, many kittens arrive at Dierenopvang de Wissel. Naturally, we want them to grow up as healthy and stable as possible.
Therefore, we are urgently looking for people who can offer these kittens a good start in life.

We have several options here, it can be a litter with mother, which therefore only need a lot of love and normal care. But also kittens without a mother, real bottle kittens, feral cats that need to be socialised and all other kittens that come in and need a good home.

The kittens stay in the foster home until they are ten weeks old, and in the meantime they are vaccinated, de-flead and de-wormed, microchipped and checked by the vet. All resources for this, as well as food, grit, etc. are provided by the shelter.

What does the organisation offer the volunteer?

Above all, what we offer is the opportunity to do something good and thus be able to give the kittens placed with them the best possible start in their young lives.

Of course, we provide everything to take good care of the kittens.

What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?

We ask our host families to take good care of the cats, of course, but in addition:

-Have a separate room to accommodate the litter,

-have sufficient time for grooming,

-Possess own transport to get to our regular vet in Leeuwarden in time in case of emergency,

Further details will be discussed during an initial meeting.
