Support families wanted for children!

When parents are (temporarily) overburdened by illness or another reason, it can be nice for a child to be with another family on a weekly basis. This allows a child to receive the love and attention it needs and parents are temporarily relieved. A support family offers the opportunity for a child or young person to participate in their daily family life. This can be a half-day during the week or at the weekend. This is by mutual agreement and depends on what the support family wants to offer and what the child needs. Support families can be singles, families with or without children. What is important is that they want to open their hearts and homes and give positive attention to a child.

Guidance and support during the pairing.

Humanitas Leeuwarden is a voluntary organisation that aims to help people who cannot manage on their own (for a while). Based on humanistic values, Humanitas provides services through various people-to-people activities and projects that contribute to increasing everyone's livelihood. We connect people without making any distinction in origin, religion or culture. Working with volunteers and volunteering gives great satisfaction and appreciation.

Deployment of 2-4 hours per week, for a minimum of one year.
