Humanitas Leeuwarden

Humanitas Leeuwarden is there for people who cannot manage on their own (for a while). Our volunteers support them to change their situation on their own. Our help is free, accessible and always nearby. We are there for everyone in the municipality of Leeuwarden, regardless of age, background or philosophy of life.

We have activities in the areas of Parenting & Growing Up, Loneliness, Language, Home Administration (getting a grip on money) and Support for Loss. One thing is most important to us. That our participants can say: 'Thanks to contact with a Humanitas volunteer, I can pick up my life again by myself.'  

Humanitas Leeuwarden offers many different volunteering opportunities. For example as a buddy for someone who is lonely or has lost track of their money matters. But you can also help us with fundraising, social media or as a coordinator or director. As a volunteer, you help others and contribute to a better society. And you yourself will make new contacts and get to know people you might not easily meet in your everyday life. You will also receive personal guidance from a coordinator and attend one or more training courses before starting work.
