Solidair Friesland (Foundation)

Solidair Friesland is committed to a fair, social and sustainable society in which everyone can participate and people look out for one another. Guided by the principle ‘People for people’, we work to foster connections, encourage interaction and empower individuals and communities.

We work with different target groups and on a wide range of issues. For example, through Nadiia, we organise activities and meet-ups for Ukrainian refugees; through MEF (Maatjes Ex-gedetineerden Friesland), we match volunteers with people rebuilding their lives after detention; and through Friend4Friend Noord-Nederland, we bring together young newcomers and Dutch young people. We also support young people, volunteers and initiatives focusing on issues such as poverty, peace, sustainability and inclusion.

Although our projects vary, people are always at the heart of what we do. Together with volunteers, local residents and community partners, we are working towards a society in which people know one another, look out for one another and everyone is given the chance to get involved.
