When you post a job in our job board, you naturally want it to stand out and generate responses. An attractive and clear vacancy text is therefore important. Below, we give you some tips to make your job posting a success.

1. Organisational profile
Make sure your organisation profile looks neat. Clear description of what the organisation does and the logo added as an image.

2. Start with a catchy title
The title is the first thing people read, so make it attractive as well as clear and not too long. Avoid generic terms such as 'Volunteer wanted' and be more specific: 'Host/hostess sought for friendly meeting place' or 'Creative jack-of-all-trades wanted for children's afternoon'. A good title arouses curiosity and immediately shows what the role entails.

3. Be concrete and clear
State exactly what the volunteer will do. Avoid vague descriptions and use clear, active language.

4. Indicate what it delivers
What does someone get in return? Think appreciation, experience, sociability or the chance to really mean something.

5. State the time investment
How much time does it take? Name whether it is weekly, monthly or flexible. That makes the threshold lower.

6. Paint an attractive picture of your organisation
Tell briefly about who you are, what you do and why it is fun to volunteer with you. In the organisation profile, make the text a bit more elaborate. In the vacancy, you can mention what the organisation is very briefly and powerfully.

7. Add contact details
Make sure interested parties can easily contact you. Preferably include the name of a direct contact person with a phone number and/or e-mail address. Avoid general numbers or a reference to reception, especially in larger organisations this can cause unnecessary delays. A direct point of contact lowers the threshold and increases the chances of a quick response.

8. Use a photo and/or video
A picture says more than 1,000 words. A video, mood shot or photo of volunteers in action makes your job posting more visually appealing.

9. Have your vacancy highlighted
