Who we are: Slieker Film in Leeuwarden is the film theatre in Friesland, showing films that matter 7 days a week in 3 beautiful movie theatres in the Fries Museum. We are a premiere theatre where our focus is mainly on art and culturally and socially important films. Besides regular screenings, Slieker increasingly develops special shows, with guest speakers, discussions and courses on specific topics. We work hard to offer increasingly professional services to our visitors. Who are we looking for: Slieker screens films every evening and six afternoons a week. These screenings are supervised entirely by volunteers. A coordinator is present at each screening who, together with the other volunteers, ensures that everything runs like clockwork. Our aim is to give every visitor a warm welcome and an unforgettable film screening. As coordinator, you open the film theatre and are the direct point of contact for your fellow volunteers. You are ultimately responsible for ticket sales, you take care of the catering and cooperation with the Fries Museum and you ensure a good transfer to the next coordinator. Besides shifts, you will regularly consult with your fellow coordinators and the coordinator of the volunteers.

Word vrijwilliger op het (financieel) inloopspreekuur en maak het verschil voor een ander!  Humanitas heeft op verschillende dagen en plaatsen in de gemeente Leeuwarden inloopspreekuren. Op deze spreekuren ondersteunen vrijwilligers mensen met allerlei vragen over geldzaken. Steeds meer inwoners weten onze spreekuren te vinden. Als vrijwilliger heb je geen speciale opleiding nodig. Wel interesse in geldzaken en in het ondersteunen van anderen. Je krijgt een introductietraining en voor je vragen kun je altijd terecht bij de coördinator en collega-vrijwilligers. Al met 2 uur kun jij het verschil maken voor een ander!

Jabikshof in Goutum is Noorderbreedte's newest residential care home. From this location, we provide care to residents with dementia. Jabikshof was built to provide a pleasant, safe and homely living environment, where everyone can and may be themselves. The residential care centre is part of the neighbourhood. Within Jabikshof, there are 12 groups including two residential groups especially for residents suffering from early-onset dementia. Do you like to cook and do you enjoy doing this together? Then we are looking for you. We are looking for volunteers who want to prepare a meal with the residents in the afternoons between 16.00 and 18.00 and who want to make a party of it and then taste the end result together at the table. With a number of enthusiastic and committed volunteers, activities are carried out in the neighbourhood for adults of all ages and backgrounds. For Wijkvereniging Bilgaard / Wijkcentrum Bilgaard we are looking for friendly handy people with technical insight or experience in repair and maintenance. It involves repairing mixers, hoovers, radios, sewing machines, record players and the like. Together with the resident, you will investigate what is wrong with the appliance, and whether it is still possible to repair it. If new parts are needed, you advise the resident where to get them. Students in electrical engineering studies can learn the finer points of the trade extremely well here.

Become an Education Buddy: Help Newcomer Children with School!

As a TOMaatje, you contribute to the future of children from refugee backgrounds by helping them with their schoolwork. Volunteers at Open Embassy support newcomer families in finding their way in the Dutch education system. Make an impact with this valuable volunteer work and help online or physically with primary or secondary school subjects for 1-2 hours a week. As a TOMaatje, you help a child/young person (7-18 years old) from a newcomer family when education is not going well. You offer low-threshold support in doing homework, practising the Dutch language and other difficult school subjects. Involving parents in their children's schoolwork also gives you a mentor and buddy role. You agree when it is most convenient for you, the child/young person and the parents. This is done in consultation. Tutoring is done online, physically at your or the family's home, or at a public location such as a library.
