Meckama State ligt aan een park vlakbij het centrum van Kollum. Het zogeheten Stateplein is het sociale hart van Meckama State. Er zijn woningen voor kleinschalige zorg, appartementen met zorg en huurappartementen. Daarnaast biedt Meckama State dagverzorging (Dagcentrum) en thuiszorg voor senioren die ondersteuning wensen bij persoonlijke verzorging.
