Language volunteers

Description

The commitment of volunteers is badly needed. Both at COA and at other organisations working for asylum seekers. Are you interested in helping asylum seekers build a new life? The residents of COA Leeuwarden could really use your help as a language buddy!

As a language buddy, you will help adults learn basic Dutch;
- This involves the first introduction to the Dutch language.
- The groups are divided by level.
- In this, you can decide what form of teaching and level you prefer.


What does the organisation offer the volunteer?

We offer a fun, versatile and challenging (volunteer) workplace, from which both you as a volunteer as well as our resident will derive much satisfaction and pleasure. You will be part of an enthusiastic team. Come and experience how much fun it is to work at COA!


What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who have an affinity with this target group and would like to contribute to society.

The days, times and frequency are always by mutual agreement.
For example, it could be one hour/day(part) per week or several hours/day(part) per week.

You can become a volunteer if you:

  • are 18 years or older
  • can work both collaboratively and independently
  • have an affinity with asylum seekers
  • can keep a distance from the asylum seeker (you are not an advocate)
  • 'Certificate of Good Conduct' (VOG) can hand over
  • Moreover, for volunteers, as for employees, the COA code of conduct.
