Writing poems

Poet Elmar Kuiper offers an accessible course for beginning writers, with plenty of challenge for advanced writers (aged 18 and over). You will learn to write your own poems in four lessons and discover what you want and where your voice lies. You learn to play with language. Visual writing is central, based on modern poetry that is broadly interpreted and tailored to the group. This course can be followed in both Dutch and Frisian.

Lecturer Elmar Kuiper is active as a writer of poetry, short stories and drama. He is also a visual artist and reviewer. With great enthusiasm and pleasure, he has been teaching beginning and advanced writers for ten years. For him, writing is an exploration. As a tutor, he stimulates your senses through exercises and assignments. It is not about delivering a ready-made poem, but about having fun with language. He is curious about what lives inside you and how you give it creative form.
