Working with perception

'The Perception' is the focus of this series of lessons that builds on the earlier drawing and painting lessons taught by Ernesto in Mantgum. A bit of repetition always comes into play.

'The Observation' refers both to working 'by observation' but also how we learn to observe our own working process. With greater insight into our routines, we can learn to see our unconscious preferences and pitfalls as opportunities and possibilities. The emphasis is therefore more on the process than the product through questions, exchange and active sharing of images and ideas with each other.

Some lessons include 'mini-lectures' on art appreciation through examples from art history. These mini-lectures always complement the practical part of the lesson.

Copying a 'masterpiece' of your choice will again be covered. In addition, there will again be a focus on working with charcoal and working live with a model. Portraiture will also receive a little more specific attention this time. Besides the offer, own initiative is highly encouraged with plenty of room for customisation. This offer is for everyone aged 18 and over, beginner or advanced.
