Table-Deck-You

Tafeltje-Dek-Je is a division of the UVV, which has existed in Leeuwarden for over half a century. The volunteers of Tafeltje-Dek-Je deliver hot meals at home to elderly, disabled and (chronically) ill people living independently who are temporarily or long-term unable to cook for themselves. Every year, our volunteers deliver about 13,000 meals in Leeuwarden.

What do UVV Leeuwarden volunteers do at Tafeltje-Dek-Je?

The nearly 50 volunteers of Tafeltje-Dek-Je deliver hot meals on all working days to people in Leeuwarden who cannot cook for themselves. For this purpose, the volunteers drive a number of routes in cars and deliver in the areas Leeuwarden-South, Leeuwarden-West and Oranjewijk. The meals are delivered in so-called 'meal boxes', in which the food stays warm.

Personal contact with meal recipients is important to us. That is why the volunteers of Tafeltje-Dek-Je come to people's homes, have a chat and also serve the food.

Where are the meals for Tafeltje-Dek-Je prepared?

The thousands of meals for Tafeltje-Dek-Je are freshly prepared in the kitchen of serviceflat Nijlânstate. UVV Leeuwarden is particularly grateful to Nijlânstate for this.
