The Grûn Beweecht Foundation

De Grûn Beweecht Foundation is all about vibrant soil and a fun and healthy life. That starts with an awareness of the state of Dutch soil (literally and figuratively). With special authentic ships and wooden wheelbarrows, we transport soil with the stories about it. In 2025, together with Arcadia (cultural capital 2018-2028), we provided soil and stories and other entertainment at the opening festival. We went to all corners of Fryslân with our ships and met beautiful people with beautiful stories and experienced a lot.

The procession of people on ships with wheelbarrows continues. We will go around the IJsselmeer from Leeuwarden with our ships in September 2026, calling at cities like Workum, Enkhuizen, Muiden Amsterdam and and Lelystad. We are looking for quartermasters in those cities, people who make contacts and enthuse and practical people who can, for example, get in touch with harbour masters or arrange a location with a city coordinator and people behind the scenes for PR and website management.
