FIRST AID

Whether you are helping at events, in a neighbourhood home or in care: as a volunteer, you may unexpectedly have to deal with minor or major accidents. A basic knowledge of first aid (First Aid for Accidents) is then no unnecessary luxury. 

You can download the free app from the Red Cross and this way you will always know what to do in an emergency. The app you can download here. 

As an organisation, it is important to ensure that a first aid kit is available and that volunteers know where it is. If, as an organisation, you supervise volunteers who do not work in the vicinity of bhv staff and you have the opportunity to offer a first aid course, then this is definitely something to be touched upon. From Amaryllis, we also offer regular first aid briefings. If one is taking place soon, you can find it below.
