Board member Funds
Description
About COC Friesland
Everyone should be able to be themselves. That is what COC Friesland has been working for for decades. Whether it is about young people being educated at school, older people finding a safe meeting place or standing up for equal rights: together we build a mienskip in which LGBTQIA+ people can participate fully and visibly.
That work requires not only passion and commitment, but also a solid financial base. This is why we are looking for a General Board member with the funds portfolio: someone who will help find the resources with which the association can achieve its goals.
What will you do?
As a board member of funds, you will be the financial engine behind our projects and initiatives. You will:
- Raise funds from the Orange Fund, Blue Fund, Bob Angelo Fund and the Iepen Mienskipsfûns, among others.
- Write and submit grant applications and ensure clear justification.
- Working with the treasurer and office manager to keep COC Friesland financially strong.
- Thinking along on the board about the direction and future of the association.
Who are we looking for?
- You feel connected to our mission and have strong affinity with the target group.
- You have fundraising experience or the drive to learn this.
- You enjoy giving financial advice.
- You are meticulous and take transparency for granted.
- You are someone who gets energy from working together, but also takes initiative.
- Experience with project-based work is an advantage
What do we ask of you?
- A time commitment of 4 hours per week on average for a two-year board term (extension possible)
- Participation in board meetings, which take place in the evening in Leeuwarden.
What do we offer?
- A role in which you directly contribute to the emancipation of the LGBTQIA+ community in Fryslân.
- A team of inspired board members, office manager and volunteers who want to make a difference together.
- Room for your ideas and initiatives.
- The position itself is unpaid.
