Resident buddy

Residential care home Abbingahiem has about 160 residents. Some residents live there for a short time and some for a bit longer. For the extra valuable moments on a day, we are looking for volunteers who would like to go for a walk with our residents. This could be: to the Intratuin, the Abbingapark, the Schrans, a walk in the shopping street of the MCL... or something else according to the wishes of our residents.

Besides the, where possible, commitment of family, we are looking for volunteers, who have some free time during the week and want to use it for those enjoyable moments for our residents. Of course, it's not just about the walk... but also the personal contact! If you are interested, contact us and in an initial meeting we can discuss what we can do for each other. You are most welcome!

You get a lot of sociability and gratitude in return. It is voluntary work where, with a little bit of time, you can make someone happy for a whole day. The organisation makes sure the right pairings are made.
