Circus trainer

Description

Saranti is Friesland's only youth circus and one of the oldest in Europe. A foundation that has been giving children aged 4 to 18 from Leeuwarden and the surrounding area the opportunity to spend their free time in a very meaningful way for over 65 years. The youth circus gives training to children in the Municipality of Leeuwarden six times a week, in its own youth circus building "De Residentie". Accompanied by enthusiastic volunteers, the children study a complete circus performance that is presented to audiences across the country several times a year.

Through the activities the children engage in in the circus, they go through a development that gives them more self-confidence, including in speaking engagements, book talks and presentations. They master expression and communication skills in addition to the obvious circus techniques, and they learn to deal with responsibilities.

It also runs circus workshops, has a make-up stand, a group of stilt walkers and fire-eaters, and has built up a regular clientele over the years. A group of former artists, volunteers and trainers have also started an artist formation called SarantiXL. A unique organisation (ANBI foundation). Circus is family!
