Youth coach Rooms with Opportunities Leeuwarden

Description

Kamers met Kansen focuses on young people studying between 18 and 25 in an unstable home situation. Via Rooms with Opportunities they will live independently, under the guidance of a volunteer coach, in one of our rooms in Leeuwarden, Drachten, Heerenveen, Sneek or Dokkum. As a result, young people find the peace they need to resume their studies. As a coach, you guide the young person on his/her way to independence. A programme at Kamers met Kansen lasts approximately one year.

As a coach within Kamers met Kansen, you provide support in all kinds of matters. For example, young people ask for support in keeping up their administration, how to deal with stress or gloominess, dealing with others or how to live healthy. By coaching the young person in an inspiring way, he/she becomes increasingly confident and independent during the process at Kamers met Kansen.

To build a bond of trust, you will speak to the young person in person fortnightly for the first 6 to 9 months. There is also contact via e-mail, phone or app. You also maintain contact with school and any other stakeholders.

From Kamers met Kansen, the coaches are supported individually by the coordinator. Additionally, trainings and meetings take place several times a year for the volunteers.

Still have questions? If so, please contact Christina Nijenhuis (coordinator Friesland) on 06 53 24 14 88.
