Coffee buddy
Description
As a coffee buddy, you host a number of residents who come to you for coffee. These residents are looking for social contacts and we want to offer them that in an approachable way.
Enjoying a cup of coffee with other residents. This is how people get to know each other, a chat is often enough. That is why it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language and that you know what appeals to the target group.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
A valued leisure activity where you can gain work experience and increase social contancts.
It is a wonderful opportunity and place to get to know a care facility and be meaningful to lonely elderly people.
You will receive on-the-job supervision and attention in a good working atmosphere. You will also make new contacts with residents, relatives, volunteers and staff yourself.
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
You have a good command of the Dutch language, possibly Frisian or Liwadders. You are motivated and have affinity with the target group lonely elderly people.
In addition, you enjoy making people feel comfortable. You are cheerful and a good listener.
You are good at making conversation and know how to involve others. You show interest in the people living in Erasmus.
You can work well independently because you need that to properly manage the coffee hour.
