Will you join us for a walk?

Description
Residential care home Abbingahiem has about 160 residents. Some residents live there briefly, some a little longer and some forever. Like Mrs van der Laan (name is fictitious). Mrs van der Laan loves flowers and art as well as animals, having had a cat herself. She used to be a district nurse herself and comes from a large family. Unfortunately, she is currently bedridden a lot because she has dementia.
On weekends, her family regularly takes her for walks. And these walks do her a lot of good! Unfortunately, her family does not have the opportunity to also visit her regularly during the week. It would be so nice if she could also go for more frequent walks during the week with the help of her walker and a volunteer to walk with her. Do you have some free time during the week and would you like to take her for a walk? Then Abbingahiem would love to hear from you!
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
At Abbingahiem, you will join a friendly team of volunteers and further colleagues. For questions about your volunteer work, you can also always turn to a contact person at Abbingahiem.
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
Because Ms has dementia, her mood can vary. This can be cheerful at times and a little sullen at others. It is important that you as a volunteer can deal with this.
