Coordinator Rozee
Description
COC Friesland - Meeting & connecting for 50+ LGBTQA+ people
Within COC Friesland, Rozee is the meeting group for LGBTQA+ people aged 50 and over. The group offers space for contact, recognition and sociability. As coordinator, you ensure that these meetings take place in a pleasant, safe and accessible atmosphere. You are the permanent point of contact for the participants and form the link between the group and the organisation.
What you do
You will organise and supervise monthly meetings. This starts with planning suitable dates and locations and coming up with activities that fit the group's needs. Sometimes that's an afternoon with a theme, a shared meal or just a relaxed meeting moment. You make sure everyone feels welcome and that the meetings run smoothly.
You are also a warm point of contact for the participants. You keep an eye on what is going on within the group, identify needs or concerns and discuss these with COC Friesland's office manager if necessary.
You will also contribute to Rozee's visibility. Together with the office manager, you will provide short messages for the newsletter, website or social media, so that new people know how to find the group and existing participants stay involved.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
Cooperation and support
You work independently, but not alone. If there are co-mentors, you coordinate work with them. You get new volunteers started in cooperation with the office manager. You participate in consultation moments with other coordinators to exchange experiences and coordinate plans.
COC Friesland offers support in carrying out your role. You will be explained the practical side of the work, such as using the agenda, declarations. There is also room for intervision or training if you wish.
Practical information
Rozee's activities mainly take place in Leeuwarden or the surrounding area. Some of the work can be done from home. This is a volunteer position for which remuneration is available of €3.30 per hour (maximum according to the volunteer scheme).
